We are excited to announce that Delta Middle School has been selected as an Ohio Schools To Watch school in the 2023-24 academic year. To be considered for this recognition, a school participates in a rigorous application process followed by an in person site visit by a team of professionals. Our school received high marks in the following categories:

  • Academic Excellence

  • Developmental Responsiveness

  • Social Equity

  • Organizational Structures and Processes

Additionally, to be eligible, each school must provide whole-child supports for physical and mental health and wellness, have evidence of strong leadership, collaboration among staff to improve teaching and learning, and a demonstrated commitment to accountability resulting in continuous improvement.

Bruce Vosburgh, Schools To Watch Director, stated, “We congratulate Delta Middle School for being a place that does great things for all of their students. Schools To Watch schools demonstrate that high performing middle grades schools are places that focus on academic growth and achievement. They are also places that embrace the importance of meeting the needs of all of their students and ensure that every child has access to a challenging, high quality education. DMS has proven that it is possible to overcome barriers to achieve excellence, and any middle level school in any state can truly learn from their examples.”

This recognition would not be possible without the effort, commitment, and alignment of our students, families, and staff. The Portrait of a Panther process our district recently completed highlights our collective commitment to ensure our students are future ready by providing the skills, mindsets, and experiences necessary to embody adaptability, communication, critical thinking, and responsibility. We are grateful to serve this school community and look forward to our continued partnership.

Delta Middle School will be formally recognized this summer in Washington, D.C. at the National Schools to Watch Conference.
