Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,               

It gives me great pleasure to welcome all of you to the 2024-2025 school year at Pike-Delta-York High School.  I am excited to continue to serve as principal of the high school.  This year promises to be another challenging, yet exciting and productive one together, as we strive to fulfill the School’s mission of…  “upholding the basic premise that all students can learn.  We are committed to developing all students to their fullest potential so they may become competent, productive, socially responsible citizens in a rapidly changing and increasingly complex society.  Therefore, we will encourage students to reach their highest level of academic performance, while fostering positive development of their health, attitudes, and behaviors”.  We look forward to working with you to promote your student’s overall well-being and academics.  Some important announcements for this school year follow in this letter.

First, our late bell rings at 8:05am.  If the student is not in his or her 1st period classroom at that time they will be marked tardy.  Dismissal remains at 2:50pm.  Next, our policy is for you to call the school if your student will be absent that day for any reason.  A hand-written note must accompany the student upon return and turned into the office within one week.  Finally, please review the student handbook located on the high school website just to the left of this letter, please pay special attention to the dress code. 

The first day of school this year is Monday, August 19, 2024.  School pictures will be Monday, September 16, 2024.
