PDY Cafeteria News:
Meal Charge Policy
To ensure that all students have access to healthy school meals and to be good financial stewards, Pike-Delta-York has instituted a charge policy. The following defines the policy on charges to the student meal account.
• Charges are designed to cover a situation in which a parent or student forgets to provide or bring money for breakfast or lunch.
• A $10.00 limit has been put in place for those students paying full price for meals and for those who pay a reduced price to cover the time for payment to be processed.
• Any student who reaches the $10.00 limit of charge will be offered a peanut butter sandwich and a choice of milk.
• Breakfast and lunch can all be charged up to the $10.00 maximum dollar amount; no a la carte items may be charged.
• Parents who do not want their child purchasing extras can request a block on the lunch account.
• Meal charges will not be permitted the last 2 weeks of school, and all charges must be paid before the end of the year.
• Parents may pre-pay for their child’s lunch account by sending money to their child’s school. Parents may also prepay by going online to www.payforit.net. This account is free to view meal activity/balance;
however, there is a transaction fee to prepay online. *Please also note that a transaction may take up to 24 hours to post to the lunch account.  Any questions may be directed to the district food service director: Brenda McCullough.  Your questions, comments and feed back are important to us.  Her contact information: 419-822-3391 ext. 3110  Email: Bmccullough@pdys.org

Earlier this week, the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) released the 2017 awards and honors. Specifically, ODE recognized both school districts and school buildings from across Ohio who are designated as All A and Momentum Award recipients.

The Momentum Award recognizes schools for exceeding expectations in student growth for the year. Schools must earn straight A’s on all Value-Added measures on the report card. The school or district must have at least two Value-Added subgroups of students, which includes gifted, lowest 20% in achievement, and students with disabilities.

I am honored to share with you that Delta Middle School has been recognized as a 2017 Momentum Award recipient by the Ohio Department of Education.

I would like to congratulate each of you, students and staff, for earning this honor. I commend you for your hard work and dedication towards teaching and learning. While this honor is well deserved and important to celebrate, I challenge you to continue to push yourself towards continued greatness.

Congrats and keep up the great work!

The 6th grade band has a new white belt musician- Ethan Cone complete all the requirements and has earned his white belt. He is the 2nd student to do so. I'm sure we will be hearing more of
Ethan's accomplishments as he is a dedicated musician. So, he is the 6th grade Golden stand recipient this week!
• Additional Golden Stand recipients are:
• 7th grade- Breanna Partin for her hard work and eagerness to improve
• 8th grade-Justice Reckner for her dedication to the flute section. She always checks the flute players to make sure they know the new notes and rhythms. Congratulation to these band students.

On November 10th, Student Government is having the annual Veterans Day breakfast and assembly at 8:30. If you know a veteran, please invite them to RSVP to the school 419-822-9118. This is not a breakfast for
students. This is a breakfast for the veterans and a guest. If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Juby.
