PDY Cafeteria News:
Meal Charge Policy
To ensure that all students have access to healthy school meals and to be good financial stewards, Pike-Delta-York has instituted a charge policy. The following defines the policy on charges to the student meal account.
• Charges are designed to cover a situation in which a parent or student forgets to provide or bring money for breakfast or lunch.
• A $10.00 limit has been put in place for those students paying full price for meals and for those who pay a reduced price to cover the time for payment to be processed.
• Any student who reaches the $10.00 limit of charge will be offered a peanut butter sandwich and a choice of milk.
• Breakfast and lunch can all be charged up to the $10.00 maximum dollar amount; no a la carte items may be charged.
• Parents who do not want their child purchasing extras can request a block on the lunch account.
• Meal charges will not be permitted the last 2 weeks of school, and all charges must be paid before the end of the year.
• Parents may pre-pay for their child’s lunch account by sending money to their child’s school. Parents may also prepay by going online to www.payforit.net. This account is free to view meal activity/balance;
however, there is a transaction fee to prepay online. *Please also note that a transaction may take up to 24 hours to post to the lunch account.  Any questions may be directed to the district food service director: Brenda McCullough.  Your questions, comments and feed back are important to us.  Her contact information: 419-822-3391 ext. 3110  Email: Bmccullough@pdys.org

HC3 donated tee shirts for the 6 - 8th grade students.  Talk2Me is #Talk2Me is a social norms campaign, developed in partnership with HC3, YAC and the Fulton County Prosecutor’s Office.  Fulton County parents have tremendous influence over their children when it comes to decisions about substance use.  63% of Fulton County youth report their PARENTS as the number one influence in making substance use choices.  Fulton County Community Health Status Report, 2016  Unfortunately, the majority of our youth also report that their parents have NOT spoken with them on a regular basis about dangers of substance use. The #Talk2Me campaign is designed to grab the attention of Middle School and High School parents with a reminder to speak to your child about the dangers of substance use and USE YOUR IMPACT!  The Stomping Grounds event is returning to the Fulton County Fair on September 3rd in the small sale arena.  5th - 8th graders are invited to come with their friends from 7 - 8:30pm to enjoy dodgeball games, free snacks, and other events.  Wear your Talk2Me Spirit shirt and be entered to win a special drawing. Hope to see you there!

The Pike-Delta-York Local School District has adopted the InfoSnap information system district-wide to help our families submit and manage required school forms for all children at PDY. The program saves data from year to year so that users will not need to enter the same information twice, and also helps the district keep records and information current.  Open House Work Sessions we will be offered on August 30 at the High School and August 31 at the Elementary School from 4:30 - 6:30 in the library.  Any one can attend at either of those 2 places.

Delta Band is selling lanyards for $4 while supplies last.

Going to the Fulton County Fair?  Check out the Stomping Grounds event provided by YAC.  Dodgeball, corn hole, water balloons and snacks will be available Sunday September 3rd from 7 - 8:30pm for grades 5 - 8.  Wear your Talk2Me Spirit shirt and be entered to win a special drawing!  See you at the Stomp!

Those students who like to be on the ballot for Student Government must follow the steps and please watch the dates.  First,  you must turn in your parent permission slip to Mrs. Juby (Room 211) by Monday at 3:00.  Mrs. Juby will give you a petition at that time.  You must follow the rules:  You must have three teachers you have this year sign your petition and 10 students from your grade.  Return this to Mrs. Juby by August 31st. at 3:15.  All dates and times are mandatory.  The school will be voting on September 6th during AA.  The 2017 - 2018 Representatives will be announced on September 7th during morning announcements.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Juby.
