PDY Cafeteria News:
Meal Charge Policy
To ensure that all students have access to healthy school meals and to be good financial stewards, Pike-Delta-York has instituted a charge policy. The following defines the policy on charges to the student meal account.
• Charges are designed to cover a situation in which a parent or student forgets to provide or bring money for breakfast or lunch.
• A $10.00 limit has been put in place for those students paying full price for meals and for those who pay a reduced price to cover the time for payment to be processed.
• Any student who reaches the $10.00 limit of charge will be offered a peanut butter sandwich and a choice of milk.
• Breakfast and lunch can all be charged up to the $10.00 maximum dollar amount; no a la carte items may be charged.
• Parents who do not want their child purchasing extras can request a block on the lunch account.
• Meal charges will not be permitted the last 2 weeks of school, and all charges must be paid before the end of the year.

Student  cafeteria balance will follow them to the next grade at the end of the school year.
• Parents may pre-pay for their child’s lunch account by sending money to their child’s school. Parents may also prepay by going online to www.payforit.net. This account is free to view meal activity/balance;
however, there is a transaction fee to prepay online. *Please also note that a transaction may take up to 24 hours to post to the lunch account.  Any questions may be directed to the district food service director: Brenda McCullough.  Your questions, comments and feed back are important to us.  Her contact information: 419-822-3391 ext. 3110  Email: Bmccullough@pdys.org

Hospital when he had cancer. For every poke he got, he was
able to get a prize to make it a little better. He really looked
forward to those prizes as the pokes were definitely not very
fun. Even though Dane passed away 2 years ago, Mrs.
Dunford's family still try to find ways to give back to the
hospital that supported them so well during a difficult time.
Please join us in giving a little more this year!

other schools? Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student interested in Quiz
Bowl will need to meet in Mrs. Smith's room, room 104 on Thursday
during A.A. Please check in with you A.A. teacher before attending

Panther Den will be collecting "Poke Prizes" during December and
January. Poke prizes are given to sick kids in the hospital for every
poke they receive. These prizes can be small $1-$5 items from stores
like Dollar Tree, Dollar General or Five Below.  Mrs. Dunford's son, Dane, was a patient at Toledo Children's

• We know we have amazing students here at DMS and we'd like you to share your positivity with us! Did you collect donations for a local charity or pack a lunch for your parent? Did you offer to take someone else's trash to the garbage can at lunch or help a neighbor with an outdoor chore? Every time we do something kind for
someone else, we spread happiness and joy! We want you to write any random act of kindness you perform on the poster in the hallway. Let's see how quickly we can reach 100 acts of kindness.

There are a lot of Lost and Found items out on tables in the cafeteria, please look for lost items there.

We have 3 awesome students this week who have been awarded the Golden Music stand in band:
o 6th grader Ashlyn Lamb is doing a great job learning trombone. She has a good ear for pitches and works hard a completing all her assignments and practice charts.
